Hilary Strickland is Eakin's 2008-09 Teacher of the Year



Hilary Strickland began teaching at Eakin in the fall of 1987 and has remained there for 20 years! She graduated from Harpeth Hall High School in Nashville, Tn. where she earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Alabama playing tennis. After 3 years, she transferred to Middle Tenneessee State University where she also played on athletic scholarship and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education K- 12. She has two children . The oldest is Drew (19) and he attends University of Mississsippi and a daughter, Hailey, 17 who attends Father Ryan High School. Both attended Eakin in their elementary years. Ms. Strickland enjoys coaching sports as well as watching and playing sports herself. She is an avid tennis player and runs every day! She loves working with elementary kids and teaching them the importance of healthy living and exercise.
